Yesterday I celebrated something that means a lot to me.
I closed on my very first home as a buyer’s agent.
The funny thing is... this was never part of the original plan.
Atlantic Expats started with one mission: helping internationals settle confidently in Hampton Roads.
Along the way I began helping property owners find wonderful tenants. Those relationships grew, and before long, some of those same owners asked me to help them buy a home.
Yesterday I handed over the keys.
What I realized is that the work hasn’t really changed.
Whether I’m helping an expat arrive from another country or guiding someone through one of the biggest purchases of their life, my role is the same:
To stay organized.
To communicate clearly.
To notice the details.
And above all, to make people feel supported from beginning to end.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted me so far ♥️

We often think sleep is something we need to fix.
The more tired we are, the harder we try.
Then I heard Dr. Michael Breus say:
“Sleep is a lot like love: the less you look for it, the more it shows up.”
That stayed with me.
Sleep isn’t only about what happens when your head hits the pillow. It’s shaped by your day: your stress, your movement, your food, your routines, and the space you create for yourself to unwind.
That’s why SLEEP is one of the pillars of my upcoming retreat.
Not because I’ll teach you how to sleep.
But because we’ll explore everything that helps sleep happen naturally.
DM me if you are interested ♥️🙏

Sometimes, home is simply finding people who cheer for the same team.
This week, a group of Belgians gathered in Norfolk to watch Belgium play.
Some arrived months ago.
Others just recently.
For ninety minutes they weren’t thinking about paperwork, schools or settling in.
They were simply cheering for the same team.
These moments matter!♥️

Most people walk through a house imagining how they’ll live in it.
I walk through a house looking for the things that could quietly become tomorrow’s frustrations.
Not because I expect perfection.
No home is perfect.
But because the small details matter once everyday life begins.
A window that doesn’t close properly.
A cabinet that’s starting to come loose.
A stain that should be documented.
A lock that needs adjusting.
My move-in inspections aren’t about finding fault.
They’re about creating clarity.
I lay the foundation, and then my tenants take the time to live in the home for a few days and add anything they discover.
Together, we create a complete picture: one that protects both the tenant and the property owner.
It’s not about relocating.
It’s about arriving with confidence.

We often treat rest as a reward.
“I’ll relax when...”
When work is finished.
When the children are asleep.
When life is less busy.
But our bodies don’t work that way.
The calmer your nervous system becomes, the easier everything else becomes too. You sleep better. You make healthier choices. You become more patient: with yourself and with the people around you.
That’s why Relax is the first pillar of my retreat.
Not because we’re trying to slow life down.
Because we’re learning how to meet life from a different place.
One small shift.
And the ripple begins.
One pillar. One step closer to yourself.

One of the unexpected gifts of starting Atlantic Expats…
is the people.
Yesterday evening, one of my clients invited me to dinner to say thank you.
Of course, we talked about the move.
But mostly we talked about life.
Those moments remind me that relocation is never just about finding a house.
It’s about helping someone feel at home in a place that was completely unfamiliar only a few months before.
And sometimes, somewhere along the way…
clients become friends.
I never take that for granted.
It’s not about relocating. It’s about arriving ♥️
